New Study Finds Marijuana 114 Times Less Deadly Than Alcohol

Yes you have read that right... even if some of you might find it unacceptable.

According to The LAD Bible, A recent study in the Scientific Reports journal suggests that marijuana is 114 times less deadly than alcohol, making it the safest recreational drug in the process.

Some people will be surprised to discover that alcohol, as you can see in the chart above, was found to be the deadliest of all recreational drugs, followed by heroin, cocaine, tobacco, Ecstasy (MDMA, or methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), and methamphetamine (also known as shabu). Meanwhile cannabis or marijuana was at the very bottom of the list. The irony, though, is that alcohol is completely legal, while cannabis, being a class-B drug, is illegal in most countries (20 countries legalized medicinal marijuana only), despite the following claims that marijuana...

  • ...can be used to treat Glaucoma
  • ...may help reverse the carcinogenic effects of tobacco and improve lung health
  • ...can help control epileptic seizures
  • ...decreases the symptoms of Dravet's Syndrome (a severe seizure disorder)
  • ...stops cancer from spreading, thanks to a chemical called Cannabidiol
  • ...may decrease anxiety
  • ...slows the progression of Alzheimer's disease, thanks to an active chemical called THC
  • ...eases the pain of multiple sclerosis
  • ...treat certain types of muscle spasms, such as those in the diaphragm
  • ...lessens side effects from treating hepatitis C and increases treatment effectiveness
  • ...treats inflammatory bowel diseases
  • ...relieves arthritis discomfort
  • ...keeps you skinny and helps your metabolism
  • ...improves the symptoms of Lupus (an autoimmune disorder)
  • ...spurs creativity in the brain (though not really a health benefit)
  • ...might be able to help with Crohn's disease (an inflammatory bowel disorder)
  • ...soothes tremors for people with Parkinson's disease (Muhammad Ali must smoke this!)
  • ...helps war veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • ...protects the brain after a stroke
  • ...might protect the brain from concussions and trauma
  • ...can help eliminate nightmares
  • ...reduces some of the awful pain and nausea from chemotherapy, and stimulates appetite
  • ...can help people trying to cut back on drinking alcohol (Told 'ya!)

The morality risk was determined by comparing a lethal dose of the drug compared to the amount typically used. However, researchers did go on to clarify that, obviously, the study does not suggest that moderate alcohol intake is riskier than regular heroin use, but rather measures the deadliness of the substances themselves.

Nevertheless, this is yet another study that can be used by some political groups in attempting to legalize marijuana in the United Kingdom.
