Standing Up For Others

Watch video:

This incident happened in Long Beach, NY. A black kid is seen taunting a white boy leaning on the fence. Suddenly, a fat guy with a red shirt confronted the black guy and hit him with a right cross.

On this video posted by Worldstar hip hop, the fat guy, named Henry Has, commented on the video. He said:

"I'm the "fat" guy in this video. From Long Beach. I'm CAMBODIAN. NOT Mexican, Latino, Samoan, or any other ethnicity... I socked that motherfucker out because he's always fuckin' with the white boy. Before this video he's beating up the white kid in front of the whole park. That's why when the video first starts you hear someone talked to the the white boy, "How are you gonna let another man hit you?" Yeah I know I might be a big motherfucker compared to the buster I laid out but that was the only way he would stop fuckin' with the kid. I know I got haters too because of this video... if you need that ?! I told you from the start ! I'm from LONG BEACH. You'll find me around."

According to renowned speaker and writer Mike Ghouse, "Standing up for others is the right thing to do, every human goes through a period of invincibility to vulnerability, if we don't stand up for those who are vulnerable, then who will stand up for us when we are vulnerable?"

So is Karen Traviss, #1 New York Times bestselling author, who said, "If we don't stand up for others, who will be left to stand up for us?"

A person who stands up for others can be referred to as a Hero or an Activist. A Hero is a person who sacrifices himself for the good or others while an Activist is a person advocates for a cause for the benefit of others. Based on the situation, in my point of view, Henry deserves much love and respect because he stood up for the white guy. I personally does not want to let other people, especially my loved ones, experience the kind of persecution that I've experienced in my lifetime.

I've been bullied for so many years, and I am still experiencing it from time to time. If I am on Henry's shoes, I probably done the same thing. That right cross (or right straight) goes out to all bullies around the world. That serves as a lesson, and a warning, to all of you, reminding that there are far more dangerous people to be reckoned with.

Bullying is not good for everybody. It is much worse than inflicting pain. If you beat a person physically, wounds will heal, but the wounds inflicted from verbal abuse will remain forever. Remember Amanda Todd and all the other people who killed themselves because of bullying, especially cyber-bullying. I hope their ghosts will still haunt those people responsible for their deaths.

But it is also proven, those people who are bullied are far more determined to be successful. Look at all the famous people, I will never mention names but you already know them... They experienced bullying all their lives, and look at them now? And look at the bullies... they end up being in the lowest level of employees in a big corporation. Look at Nobita Nobi in Doraemon... picked up by Takeshi "Gian" Goda (a.k.a. Damulag) in his childhood. But when they grew up, reversal of fortune... twist of fate... Nobita's son is bullying Gian's son.

I wish the Anti-Bullying Law in the Philippines would be ratified so that bullies receive the proper disciplinary actions they truly deserve.
