E-Liquids Are SAFE!!!

Yesterday, President Rodrigo Duterte announced that there will be a ban on vaping in public, as well as importation of e-cigarettes and e-liquids, following a case of a vaping-related lung disease in Central Visayas. In my opinion, a ban on vaping in public places (except in a designated smoking area) is fine. However, the ban on importation will affect many businesses, especially SMEs, in the country. This is the first time I disagreed with the president's policy since 2016. But I do not blame him, because I know someone has been lobbying this for years.

I am sick and tired of hearing the words "We don't know what chemicals are inside the e-liquid" or "unknown chemicals" or "toxic". Juice making is not a secret thing. You can research and be resourceful or you can embrace stupidty. It's not rocket science my friends. Search on Google, watch Youtube videos, or read Wikipedia or articles from journalists about it. Sometimes you have to use your brain and not let the mainstream media spoonfeed you with lies. Before you read this, empty your cup, unlearn what you've known or saw on TV, news and social media, especially those fake news outlets, about vaping. Here we go.

1. Vegetable Glycerin - You can find it in dairy products, fudge, candy, baked goods, cereals, pasta, meat, processed fruits and vegetables, egg products, soups, sauces, condiments, and fish products.

2. Propylene Glycol - often used to maintain the moisture in prepared foods and works to maintain their flavor quality for longer periods of time. It is also found in flavorings, such as vanilla or almond extracts used in baking, and in some types of food coloring. Yes, propylene glycol can be safely consumed. Propylene glycol was classified by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration as "generally recognized as safe".

3. Flavoring - The flavorings are, obviously, food-grade flavors. Very self-explanatory.

4. Nicotine - First of all, foods that contain nicotine include tomatoes, potatoes, eggplants (aubergines), and green bell peppers.

Secondly, it is optional. Nicotine is just an element for stimulation. Same with sugar and caffeine. It is just a stimulant (addictive substance), more like a legalized drug. if you love coffee, then you are addicted to caffeine. if you love sweets like milktea, cakes or even 3-in-1 coffee mixes, congratulations, you are addicted to sugar. Same with nicotine, it is just a substance for addiction.

So basically, we are already, unknowingly, consuming these four above mentioned ingredients, and now we understand that nicotine is just a substance for stimulation just like sugar and caffeine that we consume in our daily lives.

With more than 7,000 chemicals in tobacco smoke, at least 250 of them are known to be harmful, including hydrogen cyanide, carbon monoxide, and ammonia. And among those 250 harmful chemicals, at least 69 of them can cause cancer. Nicotine was never mentioned among the 69. The Surgeon General of the United States even indicates that nicotine does not cause cancer.

So why ban the importation of e-cigarettes and e-liquids???

IT IS BECAUSE THE GOVERNMENT, AS WELL AS THE BIG TOBACCO AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES, ARE LOSING SALES REVENUE. I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT THESE TWO HAVE WHISPERED TO THE PRESIDENT'S EAR, WHICH IS WHY THE BAN ON IMPORTATION WILL BE IN PLACE.

IT'S ABOUT THE MONEY, NOT OUR HEALTH!!!
